i just figured somethin out here. if the world takes the "royal flush" and everything goes to hell, where the heck are we gonna get nutrient suppliments for the hydroponics??? i did a little digging and found these numbers so that you can make it yourself:
All values are listed in ppm (parts per million).
Nitrogen -limits 150 - 1000 average 250
Calcium -limits 100 - 500 average 200
Magnesium -limits 50 - 100 average 75
Phosphorus -limits 50 - 100 average 80
Potassium -limits 100 - 400 average 300
Sulfur -limits 200 - 1000 average 400
Copper -limits 0.1 - 0.5 average 0.5
Boron -limits 0.5 - 5.0 average 1.0
Iron -limits 2.0 - 10.0 average 5.0
Manganese -limits 0.5 - 5.0 average 2.0
Molybdenum -limits 0.01 - 0.05 average 0.02
Zinc -limits 0.5 - 1.0 average 0.5
here's a way of making your own nutrient solution using manure and crap (pun definitely intended):
You can soak the manure or other organic materials in a container of water and keep the mixture (called "tea") well aerated. After a period of time, usually a week or so, you strain the mixture and use the liquid to feed the plants. This process may sound simple, however, getting everything right is hard. There is a lot of trial and error involved. You need to get a balanced and consistent mix. Also, animal manure alone will not supply all the nutrient requirements. Things like kelp, seaweed, bird/bat guano, etc.... need to be used with the animal manure to produce a complete balanced nutrient.
